The Reflexorama Project

Reviving the Lost Art of Expression

The Reflexorama project, is created with the vision of reviving the fading art of expressive photography and illustration. In recent times, these art forms seem to be sinking further into an abyss, increasingly constrained by the rise of political correctness and “wokism.”

Art, by its very nature, should never be restricted by societal filters or rigid ideological boundaries. While some argue that the growing prominence of AI technology will trivialize art and undermine artists, I believe it is the societal constraints we impose—filters of political correctness and the rejection of past works through cancel culture—that pose a greater threat to the survival of authentic art. The fear of representing the human body, the dismissal of historical masterpieces, and the constant erosion of creative freedom all risk pushing art to a point of no return.

AI: A Tool for Creation, Not Destruction

Though AI is in its infancy, particularly in the realm of photography, it holds immense potential to support and elevate creativity. Like all technological advancements throughout history, AI is a double-edged sword. It can be used both constructively and destructively; the outcome depends entirely on how the tools are wielded.

In these troubled times, where darkness often overshadows creativity, AI offers a unique opportunity to foster artistic exploration and self-expression. Its capacity to enable people to create and engage with art more easily is a positive force that can far outweigh its drawbacks. As with every innovation, humanity must learn to navigate the balance of good and bad, embracing the duality that has always existed with new technologies.

The Focus of Reflexorama

Reflexorama primarily draws inspiration from vintage aesthetics, though it is not confined to them. In these early stages, I have sought to diversify the project as much as possible. However, a key focus in the featured photorealism lies in the representation of plus-size individuals. This intentional choice aims to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the human form, challenging contemporary norms and prejudices.

Through Reflexorama, my hope is to revive the spirit of art as a free, expressive, and empowering medium, standing against the forces that threaten to suppress it.

A Quadrilogy of AI Photorealism

Reflexorama is the first in a quadrilogy of AI photorealism projects, each exploring different aspects of image creation:
